Main Page
Tenant And Neighborhood Councils (TANC) is a member-run tenants union that aspires to become present throughout the wider Bay Area. This wiki was created to address basic questions and as a repository for procedures that are easy to forget. We'll also have more info on TANC's organizational structure shortly. Cheers!

Getting Involved in TANC
Anyone who is a tenant—a person who is not in control of their own housing situation—can participate in TANC and help build the organization.
For getting involved (or reinvolved—we always welcome people to come back when life becomes less busy) in TANC is easy. We suggest following these steps:
Attend a TANC event
Being a part of TANC usually begins with attending a meeting or event. Be sure to follow the TANC Google Calendar: baytanc.com/calendar as TANC events are posted there regularly. Feel free to drop into any listed!
You can decide what seems interesting enough to attend, but generally speaking the Assembly and the Local Chapter meetings are good places to begin.
Keep Track of TANC events
- Our Website Calendar: baytanc.com/calendar Our calendar is the best place to keep track of meetings. Bookmark this page!
- Our Facebook: facebook.com/baytanc Not all events are posted on Facebook, but many are. Be sure to follow and like the page.
- Our Twitter: Twitter.com/TANCBay We sometimes post event reminders on twitter, and always have a hot take to share. Be sure to follow.

- Step 1: Fill out the join form at baytanc.com/signup.
- Step 2: An onboarding email will be sent to you. The email also includes our onboarding powerpoint; be sure to read it closely!
- Step 3: If you have additional questions about TANC, simply reply to the onboarding@baytanc.com email and ask!
- Step 4: If you have an organizing question, or want to help with organizing, email organizing@baytanc.com
